missing my a bit of home today, so I thought I'd share one of my favorite private gardens that I would escape too from time to time, it's really quite special. Open to the public on Sunday. Now I'm having visions of a secret garden wedding, I mean what a magical location....

Real Wedding: Nadia and James

I'm swooning over the wedding of Nadia and James, so romantic and sweet, filled with charming vintage style.  I love the voyeuristic feel and light in these photographs, captured by the talented, Tommy of This is Naive. Quite refreshing to see something different, don't you think?

The bride, Nadia, looks so elegant in her beautiful beaded vintage dress. And I adore, the extra touch of GORG with her ruffled shrug handmade by Holly Stalder.  Not to mention her 1920's hairstyle with stylish waves. Stunning but I'm not surprised, as this little lady, is the designer\creator behind the beautifully hand crafted, vintage inspired, London based clothing label, Nadinoo. So, I guess it's safe to say, this gal knows a thing or two about vintage style...

a fabulous guest dressed in feathers and fur ready for the wedding festivities...............

...............that took place at a quaint little house with greenery all around..........

......................an adorable arrangement of paper whites, how darling!

Charming right?
I'm not sure what I love more, her 1920's hairstyle, her wedding attire or the enchanting location, I love it ALL

Wedding Illustrations

Imagine a live artist; painting your beautiful wedding; creating a lasting impression of the most important day of your life; on paper as it takes place! Move over photography & video, make a little room for some ink and paint. San Fransisco based artist, Wendy MacNaughton, who is best known for her ink and watercolor drawings of commuters and mental maps of the cities neighborhoods, has recently dipped her paint brush in the magical world of weddings. Her original painted drawings  are the perfect touch of whimsical for your big day. Last month, she was commissioned by a mother of the bride, who wished to give her daughter something extra special on her wedding day. How precious is that? The ceremony was a small, intimate affair, held at the brides home among 20 guests. Wendy was there, ink and pen on hand to draw the ceremony, then rushed ahead to the reception location where a grand celebration took place with 250 guests. She then painted the ceremony drawing, framed it and had it on display as the guests arrived so they could see what happened an hour before.
Yowza! That's what I call a quick turn around and how lovely to have something so special to greet the guests.

During the cocktail hour, she painted the guests and all the delightful little details, lighting, flowers, cake etc

And while the guests enjoyed their dinner, Wendy went to work, painted the ink drawings, mounted them to a board and placed them on display for all to see making a creative addition to the wedding decor. Um, AH-mazing, right?
If you're a bride to be in the Bay area and on the hunt for a little something extra for your special day, ya might wanna add Wendy to your list....

Flower Spotlight: Snowberry

The other day I spotted some beautiful pink snowberries at the market and couldn't resist snatching them up. The snowberry plant is dotted with tiny clusters of berries, color ranging from white to pink. A lovely floral choice for a autumn or winter wedding, as it is decorative element in any arrangement or bouquet. I'm especially adoring this little berry all on its own in the beautiful bouquets pictured below.

But it also works well with other beauties from the garden, whether it's an accent in a boutonniere, bridal bouquet or table arrangement.

As much as I adore the pink snowberry, I would love to see a winter wedding with white snowberry everywhere.......
