Running to the courthouse?

Okay, so you've squashed the idea of the big "to do" summer soiree, and have decided on an intimate, just for two, courthouse wedding. Sweet. So, if you're the no frills, non-traditional kinda of bride; looking for a budget friendly, simple dress that hints or rather whispers a little bit of "blushing bride to be" for your upcoming nuptials, look no further....How about this darling little cotton, brocade dress for your summer, courthouse wedding? I'm picturing "morning nuptials" with a little champagne breakfast to follow....

WEDDING STYLE: Vera Wang Spring 2012

I have to admit, I'm NOT feeling Vera Wang's Spring 2012 collection. Where's the "unlike" button? The models look, well, sad and lost in the flesh tone dresses and bed head hair. She tried to do edgy bridal but her version just doesn't work for me. Maybe she just missed the boat with styling? However, I am warming up to this one and this one, they might work well for a Autumn\Halloween bride costume party. What are your thoughts? ya or nay? Would love to hear from ya dear readers...

WEDDING STYLE: Orange Blossoms & Mimosa

Left to Right: Wedding Gown: Malene Birger,  Shoe: Roger Vivier, 1st Blue dress: Catherine Malandrino, 2nd Blue dress: Richard Nicoll, 3rd Blue Dress: Richard Nicoll

This wedding style inspiration would be perfect for an evening, candle lit winter wedding, with lush scents of orange blossom and mimosa wafting in the air.
A 1940's vintage inspired silhouette by Malene Birger, and can we say budget? 400 euros (approx. $560) which means you can splurge on accessories, like those scrumchus Roger Vivier shoes!
To tie your bridal party in with your attire, mix match them in deep sapphire blue.....preferably velvet for winter.....
What is your winter wedding inspiration? I'd love to know......

WEDDING STYLE: little black dress

I'm not a big fan of matching the dress to a T for the bridal party, so boring and so not a Little Winter Bride style. Mix it up! But if you really can't stray away from the traditional idea of matching dresses, why not ask your bridal party to stick to one color or palette of colors of your liking but allow them to choose their own silhouette. Preferably something that suits their figure and price range? I know it's the bride and grooms day to shine but I think that it's sweet to make those special peeps around you shine as well. I love the idea of the little black dress for your bridal party or as I like to say "witnesses". Everyone needs a little black dress in their closet, plus it makes for a super chic choice, with a wide range of styles and they WILL wear it again.....

window shopping

walking around Milan window shopping, I couldn't help but snap a few from Luisa Beccaria's gem of a store
frothy, tulle galore.....
The silhouette reminds me of the wedding dress Stephanie Seymour rocked in the November Rain video....
I'm guessing not many could or would want to rock Ms. Seymour's style but I'm warming up to Ms. Beccaria's version

a little more ferretti please.....

If you've been reading LWB for some time, you probably know by now,  I'm obsessed, with the designs of Alberta Ferretti.  Since it's fashion week here in Milan, a city I now call home and after Wednesdays post, it would only be fitting, to end your week with some more eye candy from her Spring 2011 collection
Aren't these romantic, flowing gowns, dreamy?

Alberta Ferretti Bridal

Love anything by designer, Alberta Ferretti. Brides out there aiming for understated glamour, will feel like they have found the perfect match with her bridal collection here and here. Also some of the designs from the main collection, which I'm absolutely digging, make beautitful alternatives for your big day, like this silk, sleek number. I'm actually more partial to the idea of a bride wearing a dress that's not hanging in the "bridal" section but that's just me.
