a bride in ruffles

A little Milwaukee wedding I found by surprise on flickr.
Ruffles Ruffles, love you lots although not always easy to pull off, however, I think this bride looks radiant.
My favorite part about this wedding besides the sweet looking couple is the cityscape, almost looks like a European city, who knew!

go prom night

going prom night on your bridesmaids? (see yesterday's post here)
why not join them?
a wrist corsage could be a chic alternative to the traditional bridal bouquet (not to mention budget friendly)
as long doesn't resemble the one you wore to your high school prom
orchids anyone?
(need visual? refer to photo above)

venetian masks

No tacky New Year's Eve accessories.
Instead, elegant black and white venetian masks.
Think Truman Capote's famous black and white ball

wedding portraits

Off center, an unusual composition for a bridal portrait that really works. Don't be afraid to break the "traditional" pose, mix it up. My advice, get a few traditional snaps to satisfy the need but break the wedding photography cookie cutter mode find a photographer with a unique vision. Here are a few of my favorites to gather inspiration.

vacanza!
Tomorrow, A. and I are leaving for august vacanza! yipee!
But first, we are heading to my home, NYC, to see family and friends.
Then it's off to the west coast for an 11 day northern california adventure. We will be visiting my best friend in San Fran\Marin County with some mini road trip adventures, here and here.
It's my first time to Northern California, so you can imagine, I am super excited, especially for the forest and chillaxing with my best friend, kira.
I have my little list of places to see in the city but would love love love any recommendations?

little summer delights

growing up on the east coast, summer was all about running around barefoot in the backyard, playing in the tide pools at our towns beach and riding the ferry to see my grandparents in their summer escape from the city.
climbing trees. roller skating. collecting mini frogs and lighting bugs. inspecting the sea creatures and seaweed and collecting shells. eating ice cream, hamburgers and corn on the cob. rainy days spent playing card games or drawing. no t.v. rule on our house, only movie night and which was usually a disney movie, Freaky Friday, Swiss Family Robinson, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...
oh how delightful it was.
how did you spend your summer as a child?

clothespins anyone?

um hello, is this not outrageous!
Artist, Annie Morris created this clothespin dress for Christopher Bailey creative director of Burberry.
I think there could be a "dress off" between this dress and the peacock dress I wrote about here.
don't you think?
