A sweet, GORG, lace dress from designer, Alexis Mabille. You can look but don't touch or else you will blow your wedding budget away with the price tag. But isn't it GORG? I'm also diggin some other styles. Ignore the gosh awful styling in these photo links your about to see, the hair, shoes, jewelry, just plain yuck, doesn't work but I do like this silhouetteandthis one. very, um, different, no?
Ciao everyone! Happy Monday, hope all east coast readers survived Irene. I was worried there for a second but see she was quieter than expected. Anyway, my travels have been delayed, of course. I have to admit I was glad since I'm a nervous flyer to begin with and adding a hurricane into the mix was not helping my little sensitive nerves. Hopefully I will be heading to NYC mid week but happy to have a few more beautiful days here in Milano. Spent Sunday with A. and some friends at the River Bank, like last year's river social, ya remember? It was a beautiful tranquil day just like last year which you can read about here on my new lifestyle blog:
Think of this new lifestyle blog as an extension of Little Winter Bride. Same editor, little me, similar style but new subject. Don't get me wrong, I love writing about weddings and will continue to do so but I wanted to find a way to expand and share, all the amazing things I encountered while living between two wonderful countries, Italy and America, in two beautiful cities, Milan and New York City. It's something I've been thinking about doing for the past, I don't know, 2-3 years and finally got around to setting it up. I will be featuring various things such as art, fashion, design, garden, home, food, travel and what ever comes my way. I have plenty of goodies brewing over here in my studio, so be sure to check it out.
I love hearing from brides to be, especially when they have fabo style like this little lady.
remember this wedding from last year? feather love is so talented.
I'm heading on some more travels for the next couple of weeks. First stop, heading home to NYC for some exciting "apt" project that you can read about here on my brand spanking new lifestyle blog. Then A. and I are heading out to the west coast for my best friends wedding in Napa. Yahoo!
How are you spending your last weeks of summer?
I love receiving emails from creative peeps, especially when it's a budding business venture. So I was thrilled to hear from Daughters of Simone, a little etsy shop that offers unique, reworked, vintage wedding dresses and accessories for the bride seeking style outside the traditional wedding box. Based in San Fransisco, this little etsy shop, is run by two lovely ladies, Brittany and Christy, who both adore all things vintage. They seem to be growing as they have just launched a brand new site.
Ya might want to check them out.
Little do they know, I stumbled on their shop while etsy surfing one day a while back and fell in love with their goods, especially this chain belt.
If you're a dedicated LWB reader, you probably know by now how much I adore Italian designer, Luisa Beccaria. A visit to this store, always puts a smile on my face. So it's time again, for some window shopping and head over to her shop which is located in Brera neighborhood here in Milan.
It's like dropping a kid in a candy store. Mirrored rooms, lit by chandeliers, filled with GORGEOUS colorful, gowns and ready to wear. There's even a area completely dedicated to wedding gowns, that reside behind glass armoire's. You won't find any of the wedding dresses on her site, the only way to see these divine creations, is to visit the store. Which by the way, is a must if you're ever in Milano, that is, if you're into romantic, decadent gowns and such.
What if you could get married in a beautiful Italian villa, like the one in Bernardo Bertolucci's film, Stealing Beauty? Well you can, how amazing is that? The Villa di Geggiano, which was one of the locations for the film, (remember the fabo party scene, ya that's the place) is located in the hills of Chianti Classico, three miles northeast of Siena. This magical venue is available for private parties and ceremonies. How dreamy is that?
And how did I not know about this when I was planning our wedding? It was my other dream wedding style....
The party scene in the film was my most favorite and along with the dancers, I loved the candle lit path in the garden that led guests to the entrance of the grand villa. Oh and Liv's stunning bohemian dress.....like this bride's style.,
Um... brides to be out there, what are you waiting for? Start planning your dream Italian villa wedding at this venue.
And yes, I would love to know if you decide to get hitched at this magical spot. srsly.
Not planning a destination wedding? Don't fret, it's also great location for honeymooners, as the villa has a winery and two exclusive luxury suites.
A perfect hideaway for lovebirds.
I'm already planning in my head a weekend get away with A. this autumn.
A custom made black antique mesh half panel dress could be an interesting detail to a brides wedding style. It's shown here over a black slip dress but I'm wondering, for a little more punch, what it would look like over a ivory or grey satin slip dress?
Morgane Le Fay Fall 2011 collection is out in stores now. Are you a bride to be that's possibly drowning with all wedding fluff around you? Feeling a little lost with the typical dress hunting? If so, you might find some comfort at Morgan Le Fay, where you are sure to find that unique, unfussy, offbeat yet elegant dress. From this sneak peak, I can see there are plenty of goodies for all, especially winter brides, as I see a couple of lovely outerwear designs that could compliment any wedding dress.
