TREASURE HUNT: Couture Lab

A custom made black antique mesh half panel dress could be an interesting detail to a brides wedding style.   It's shown here over a black slip dress but I'm wondering, for a little more punch, what it would look like over a ivory or grey satin slip dress?

FLOWER SPOTLIGHT: Amy Merrick

There's a new florist in town! This morning I stumbled upon, Brooklyn based floral designer, Amy Merrick, who has launched her new, beautiful site this week.  I was sold at the starting home page, it's some serious floral eye candy.  She creates eloquent arrangements for weddings and events throughout the northeast. So if your a NYC or Tri-State area brides to be, ya might wanna check her out.
Being the flower fanatic that I am, there's nothing better then starting out the morning with pretty little flowers. I highly suggest you check it out, even if you're not planning a wedding or event.
Just a little flower fix for your day.

TREASURE HUNT: Lace Tops

I still can't get over this brides stylish look.
I'm obsessed with lace tops over wedding gowns and keep adding to my finds.
There are endless style possibilities on how to add a unique piece like that.
A few vintage beauties would work like this Victorian Irish bolero or this lace blouse that I've found while treasure hunting at my usual spots.

WEDDING DETAILS: Color Theme

The color theme for your wedding, hmmmmmm, what shall it be? still thinking? Why not head over to paper source and download their colorscope guide (shown above) to help you choose what color best represents you and your hubby to be.
Of maybe you want to choose your colors from this flower color chart I featured a while back.

VINTAGE: 1930's Bias Cut Silk Gown

A blue and violet floral 1930's bias cut silk crepe gown and it's reversible. The deep V back can also be worn in the front. Can we say GORG?
It could easily be worn by a bridesmaid, wedding guest or even the bride to be!
Perfect style for any Spring or Summer time wedding.

What's your favorite flower to wear in your hair? I like the classic gardenia but also love the Mediterranean flower, Oleander, since it's every where here in Italy.

True Wedding Budgets

Sort of mind boggling looking at the cost breakdown for weddings.
This hilarious, well designed chart paints a pretty good picture of wedding costs across the country.
They should think about a worldwide poster for those who have destination weddings in exotic places, then you'll see things sky rocket.

How did you manage to stay within your budget? Did you have to sacrifice some details? Or did you get creative? Maybe your in the throws of planning? Tell me, I would love to hear from you

BEAUTY: Wedding Braid

Braids are making a big splash this year with brides and I'm completely loving it.
How about this pretty side ways french braid?
I've been on the hunt for a new fresh up do for a wedding I'm in this September. This might be perfect!
What's your favorite hairstyle lately?

LITTLE HONEYMOONS: Arcipelago Toscano, Italy

Looking for a Mediterranean seaside honeymoon spot in Italy? How about traveling off the beaten path and head for the little chain of islands off the coast of Toscana known as, Arcipelago Toscano?
There are seven islands:  the Isle of Elba is the largest, Isola del Giglio, Gorgona, Capraia, Giannutri, Pianosa and Montecristo, the last made famous by Alexandre Dumas in his novel, The Count of Monte Cristo. These beautiful jewels in the middle of the sea look heavenly with their wild nature, miles of sand or pebble beaches and cliffs. Also its uncontaminated landscape forms part of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago and its sea is part of the biggest marine park in Europe.  Sign me up. Sigh. I would love to rent here or maybe stay here or hereI haven't been there yet but have plenty of friends here that rave about it.  More helpful links about travel in the islands small island in an island, sailing, spa , b&b, camping, insider tips and tourism

If you could go on an island vacation\honeymoon, where would you go?
I would love to hear about your travel itinerary.
