REAL WEDDING: PART III Italian Vineyard

Today is PART III of the Italian Vineyard wedding.
If you missed PART I and II be sure to check them out.
One of my favorite parts of this wedding, (and there were many) was the enchanting, candle lit 18th century cantina that guests had to walk through to reach the aperitivo hour. pure magic I tell ya.
If there are any brides to be out there looking for a destination spot in Italy for a wedding, this location is the place.

REAL WEDDING: PART II: Italian Vineyard

Today, I'm sharing Part II of the Italian Vineyard wedding that I photographed along with my rock star second shooter, Andrea Bakacs. The light here in Italy, it just, well, oozes dreamy magic. Right?
If ya missed Part I, be sure to check it out.

Stop by LWB tomorrow for Part III

REAL WEDDING: PART I Italian Vineyard

This past May, I had the pleasure of being hired by a wonderful couple, Julie and Deneb, to photograph their lovely intimate wedding in Gavi, Italy, located in the Piemonte region. (probably my most favorite region in Italy thus far....it's absolutely heaven like in Autumn during truffle season). The wedding took place at, L' Ostelliere, a hotel, restaurant and winery all in one, tucked up on Monterotondo hill with spectacular views of the vineyard and countryside.  It was ridiculously breathtaking, not to mention, one of the most heartfelt weddings I've ever seen. Family and friends all had a hand in creating this beautiful day, from the brides dress, which was handmade by her mother, to the ceremony, which her father officiated to the musician friends that played through out the festivities.

It was splendid.
I will let you feast your eyes on these beauties for now but be sure to stop by LWB tomorrow for
PART II and III

Archiving the Dress

You've searched high and low for the perfect wedding dress, the big day comes, you wear it, celebrate and after, in the box it goes, waiting, patiently, that just maybe, someday, someone else will come along and wear it again. But before that pretty little dress finds a new home in the hall closet or heads out to shine for another blushing bride, why not archive your special dress with an avant guarde portrait? Photographer, Dorothy O'Oconnor, has been capturing the feminine spirit of the wedding dress for many sentimental brides with her 4x5 camera, creating portraits that will tell the unique, dreamy story over and over again. How sweet is that? And wouldn't it make for a lovely anniversary gift?
p.s. be sure to also check out Dorothy's fine art work here

Real Wedding: Courtney and Taavo

Apparently, I'm stuck in the forest with all these enchanting weddings. Don't get me wrong, as it is one of my favorite themes\location for any kind of soiree, so I could not resist sharing the beautiful wedding of Courtney and Taavo Somer.  Laid back, bohemian chic appears to be the style of this NYC couple, who headed for the hills of their country house in upstate New York to tie the knot. Photographer, Josie Miner, captured the perfect mixture of casual simplicity with eclectic elegance. Love it all but the wow factor for me, is, the beautiful brides dress, a flowing, ethereal, romantic gown created by none other than designer Zac Posen. sigh. To see more of this wedding go here

summer

summer thunderstorms, finally!
it's been so hot here in milan, the kind of yucky, sticky, I don't want to be in a city hot.
one more week to go and then it's off to a special haven in the Dodecanese Greek islands to this little spot.

wedding portraits

Photobucket

Off center, an unusual composition for a bridal portrait that really works. Don't be afraid to break the "traditional" pose, mix it up. My advice, get a few traditional snaps to satisfy the need but break the wedding photography cookie cutter mode find a photographer with a unique vision. Here are a few of my favorites to gather inspiration.

May Wedding Photography

I adore this bohemian, countryside wedding and those cowboy boots! Can we say, rustic chic?
This sweet wedding was photographed by Brooklyn based photographer, Corinne Botz, of May Wedding Photography

"Tim and Lisa's wedding took place in the summer of 2005 at the Apple Barn Farm, upstate New York. They are both artists and their wedding was really fun, relaxed, beautiful, and creative. Their friends read poetry, and played songs during the ceremony and ended the evening with a bonfire."

How romantic and perfect is that?

Campground Wedding

Found this beautiful wedding via Saipua.
I'm loving the campground location in upstate NY as their venue and adore the flowers, my favorite, Saipua, of course.
