WEDDING DECOR: Autumn Table

Little autumn wedding details for your table decor
How stunning is that gold apple? I envision a whole bunch of these little nuggets, scattered, over a long table covered in a ivory table cloth and lit with tapered candles, preferably ivory. Then guests could take one home as a thank you.
Wouldn't it be perfect for a Big Apple Autumn wedding?
Clockwise starting from upper left corner: pheasant feathers, birds, bleached peacock feathersstone apple&pear, vases,, golden apple
And why not top it off with burlap texture table cloth

FLOWER SPOTLIGHT: Saipua's Flower Arranging Tips

Helpful tips from the ever so clever Sarah Ryhanan, creator and founder of Saipua, one the most stylish flower studio's in Brooklyn. While back home in NYC, at the beginning of the month, I had the pleasure of meeting Sarah and had a chance to visit her studio. What an amazing space and meeting Sarah was such a delight. I took the opportunity to pick her brain on what seasonal flowers would be available to use in a September wedding, as I was prepping myself for creating my bff bridesmaids bouquets. She was so sweet to give me some helpful flower tips. Grazie Sarah!
Hopefully soon, I will have photos of the bouquets to share with you all.
It's always such a treat to meet blogsphere peeps, don't ya think?

Flower Spotlight: Arrangement Inspiration

I'm mesmerized by the various unique flower arrangements found on house plant guru.
Makes me so happy to see a florist embracing the kind of petals that seem to get completely overlooked, Carnations and Gladioli (see image # 4 and #9) These arrangements seem to breath a whole new life in these unpopular stems.
Do you have a favorite, underestimated flower? I would love to hear from you

ACCESSORIES: petite wedding ring

While at home in NYC a couple of weeks ago, I stopped by my favorite store,
Spent some leisurely time window shopping, a little wedding gift hunting, day dreaming of buying out the 5th floor and of course a look see at their one of kind jewelry department. I love their selection of delicate, simple, wedding rings.  There's something elegant about just wearing a gold band without all the bling.
Ever since I got married,  I pretty much only wear my gold wedding band for my everyday and save my engagement ring for special occasions. But I'm also digging the idea of teeny, tiny, stone tucked within a thin gold band. A little sparkle but not to much, like the one pictured at the top of this page.
Isn't is sweet?

on the road

Been on the road these past couple of weeks.....from NYC to San Fran to Mill Valley, to Calistoga, St. Helena and now finally back home in Milano. I'm also coming off a week of wedding festivities, as my best friend in the whole entire world just got hitched last Saturday. Yahoo! And let me tell ya, it was pure magic. I just can't believe it's all over? I know the bride is the one that usually gets the wedding blues but is there a best friend, bridesmaid blues version? cause, I think I've got it. I was so lucky to be able to spend the entire week with my BFF before the big day, as we live halfway around the world from each other, approx. 5,968.2 miles apart and rarely get to see each other, except for our daily skype dates.  When we both decided to leave NYC (5 years ago) to be with our significant others, it was a BIG deal. We thought we'd never leave NYC and always live right next door to one another (preferably in brownstones on a picturesque street in Cobble Hill, yes that was our big dream) but apparently there was a bigger dream awaiting us, our future hubbies. So San Fran called out to her and Milano called out to me and off we went. So you can imagine, how special it was to have the entire week leading up to the big day just hanging out, working on various wedding projects, relaxing at the spa for sisters bridal bridesmaid day and enjoying family dinners. One of my favorite moments of the week was getting up very very early on the wedding day with my BFF to have her pick out the flowers for our bridesmaids bouquets which I was so thrilled to make. I even got to work in a real florists studio! It was a quiet and special morning with her and glad we had that time. But I have to admit, I'm a little bit sad it's all over. boo hoo. Can't wait to share the details.....

WEDDING STYLE: Vintage Italian

Okay, so I thought I would be back on Monday, I lied. The apartment project is taking longer then I thought (plus I barely have internet connection) So while I'm gone (and I promise to be back very soon) I thought you might want to feast your eyes on some wedding inspiration.
While sitting in a waiting room for an appointment, I came across this GORG, old world Italian wedding shoot in Italian Vanity Fair. I know I must of looked like a weirdo taking pictures of the pages with my iphone but I couldn't resist. My fav, all the Italian men in their panama fedora hats....how stylish would that be for your groomsmen?

Archive: Little Winter Bride's wedding

Today I am writing to you all from New York City. Was delayed due to the little hurricane but finally I'm here. Thought I would share a little memory from our winter wedding in Gramercy Park. I'm full of smiles when I look at this photo, not only cause it was the day I married the love of my life but also because now I am happy to say we have a new home here in the area. I'm keeping short today, as I'm super duper swamped with a big project which you can read on House of Violetta but promise to be back on track first thing Monday morning.
